I notice it lots of tuts and vids that when they show people how to make a sewer of vent they say 128 units by 128 units and then proceed to make the bush they have numbers that show on mouse movment that show the total units there making the brush my hammer doesnt do that and i have looked all over on how to set somthing but can find anything any help please

That's Hammer 4 (which is only for Source-games).
In Hammer 3.4/3.5 you can see the size of the current brush in the bottom of Hammer, it says e.g "128w 128l 128h" (that's width, length and height respectively).
