I'm tempted to try it out, just for kicks. But, I'm too lazy, and I don't really need to do it (already have 2gb of video ram).

This is to do with shared memory, I suspect you will not be able to do it on a desktop card. As you say, what's the point? It'd be slow as hell and you already have enough, so they don't let you.

Well maybe I'll try it out on my laptop, then. Though, iirc my laptop only has 2 gb of ram, and, I think it's safe to assume that I'll need all the ram I can get in just about any program that's going to be graphics-intensive. So it's a lose-lose situation :(
