I want to make a webpage in which the background color (or maybs even the image) is changed whenever you click. I mean, not when you click a button or a certain area, but whenever you click anywhere, just whenever you do a click in general.

I'm super new to CSS stuff and I couldn't find a solution on the interwebs for what I want to do, so maybe some of you could help hereeee.

I want to use an image as a background for some text. The image should only go as far as each line goes. However, all I could do was have the image as background, but start anew each line. I want it to be one image behind the whole text. (One looping pattern)

Anybody know a solution?

You'll have to adopt the perverted logic of the game's world.

Glad you guys enjoyed it. We were kind of not too euphoric about this game, because we had this great restriction of needing to make an adventure game and we used to always try to focus on just a few unique features that the player notices right away when starting the game and thus realizes "what's up with the game" and kind of subconsciously decides at the very start if he/she likes the game or not. We couldn't do that here, because it's a more or less "common" adventure game after all. But we're happy with the outcome, so that's sweet.

I would recommend to not use such filters for practice, because they make most things look nice, but also make them look boring and lose the actual drawing. Try making nice pictures by just drawing.

Playing fast doesn't make you a good guitar player and making music by just standing there moving your fingers doesn't have much to do with music.

Jack White might not be the most skilled player (although he does have quite epic skills, if you ask me), but it's just so much fun to see him play, because you can see the passion all over him, he's not just boringly standing there moving nothing but his fingers, he plays his music with the whole body. That's what music is all about, it's about emotion and intuition, not hitting the right notes and harmonies, dog.

It does seem pretty cartoony indeed. But I like the environment and dungeon style etc, just the characters seem pretty out of place and especially the blood and spell effects are way too colorful for an evil atmosphere to unfold.

But then again, if it doesn't matter if a song is bad or not to be liked. What does the quality of a song say about it? It then has no meaning anymore, because apparently that is not the reason why music is liked. There are probably alot of songs most people would say they are technically bad, but they still like them. So popularity in that case wouldn't be a measurement for a song to be good.

The problem probably is more to get the musician to play your song the way you have it in mind (and way harder, to sing it like you have it in mind) than actually finding one.

When a band claims to not want to make popular songs, are those songs better? Better quality because only few people like them? I think the best way to determine the quality of a song is the popularity. But then again, there is absolutely no need to determine the general, objective quality of a song, because wheter someone likes a song is not determined by objective qualities, but by "feelings" or parameters even the someone himself can't explain. That way, a song can't be good to everyone at the same time, just because some test says it's awesome.

The reason why lovesongs are the most popular type of songs probably is because almost anyone can relate to the topic. Subconsciously.

Also, Lemmy is a serious douche. Declaring anyone who's not acting like him to be boring sounds pretty ridiculous. He obviously missed the zeitgeist. At the end it's the music that counts and the "rock-lifestyle" of which Lemmy is the last remaining defender is pretty much dead anyway (and so is rock music as well, kind of).

I had the problem with pngs once, but it was between Firefox and IE on Windows. The one image had a different tone than the other. If you looked at both in Photoshop and took the color code, it was the same, although one could clearly see it being different colors.

That was between a .gif and a .png. Now I changed it to .jpg and .gif. While it looks all the same on Windows with FF and IE, now there's a difference in Windows and Mac. I changed it to both being .gif and now it seems to be all right, I'm not sure though. (You can check yourself here if you have both a Mac and a PC. The horizontal green menu strip at the top didn't match the background color of the menu items when touching them with the mouse.

And finally the links that pop up when you touch the ">Stuff" link in the big menu on the left.

It would be totally rad and enough if someone could tell me a link to a site that explains it or just how those things are called so I can look them up on the interwebs. But I really don't know what they're called.

It could use some improvements. For example, the white stripes at the top and bottom don't fit in well, and so does the little dark-orange line at the bottom of the orange part.

You should also watch out the text inside the star isn't so close to its edges. And I'd make the star symmetric. Like web 2.0 trendy.

And why is the "WhiteBird" heading aligned to the right whereas the rest of the text is on the left? Doesn't look too nice. I like the orange texture though. The "S" logo is also nice, but could use some more simplicity and less Half-Life-icity.

Just saw it and I must say, the story was super dumb and boring, the huge fight at the was stupid as well. It should've been waay more crazy and unconventional, more like the old Disney animation feature. Not complaining about it "not being like the books at all" etc. It was just too much like, a bunch of crazy characters in a uninterestingly uninspired.

The movie's still okay, I guess, the characters were pretty well designed (could've been more crazy though), I really liked the cat and the hearts queen. Still too much Disney family movie crap, especially Johnny Depp dancing in the end was god awful. Tim Burton should not do shit with Disney agan.

Well, from own experience, my computer used to crash like twice a year and had to be reset to zero. I did go to alot of casual gamesites though, but viruses were never the cause. I also had to boot my computer like 3 times before it worked, since I always got bluescreens on startup. Some hardware crap. That's the good thing about Macs; although they seem to have weaker hardware, the hardware they have is perfectly synchronized and works together really well.

Of course, if you want to do alot of customizing shizzle and program around your OS and all, a Mac isn't the right thing. It works fine for me though.

How the frack can it be possible, that on IE, the background color and colour in an image (it's a gradient, so the colour should fade over) fits just fine, but on FF3 they're different! They're png images and Photoshop changed the colour when exporting to png from psd, so I had to pick the colour again from the png, not the psd I had intentionally taken it from, which was weird already at the start.

It was Win IE and Mac FF though. But still. Someone with Win FF inotced it too, I guess. :C

I really liked how the movie starts as a dark, negative film noir (with Rorschachs stuff and the comedian). But then from some point on, it kind of becomes a happytime superhero movie. I mean visually, like, the story is still brutal and all, but the visuals look really "nice" and cleaned and not like the dirty style of the beginning. That was pretty sad.

So, you might remember my dead laptop keyboard issue from the days of yore. I now bought a USB keyboard which works just fine, but since the old keyboard isn't dead completely and got hurt by effing coffee all over it, "it likes to press buttons randomly". Like, sometimes you can't press R on the USB keyboard, because the broken keyboard "presses" CTRL all the time and this makes "CTRL+R" and opens the run window. And you get random windows popping up from time to time...

Now, my question, can I turn of the "original keyboard" somehow and only use the USB keyboard? Or would it hurt the computer itself if I ripped out all the -now useless- keys? (That would probably not change anything, since the keys (like CTRL) react without pressing, appearently because of the coffee.)

Okay, I have always been wondering and trying to figure out how to make those oldschool retro gradients. Y'know, gradients of two colours, but it's only the two colours and the one coulor changes into small dots of the other and then there's a "fake" gradient. I ever figured out how to do those. But today I did! Weird that I couldn't come up with that for so long.

I did it this way: I made a gradient with Photoshop and saved the file as GIF with just 10 colours (it was more gradients, to test).

Just thought I'd share my Bereicherung with you.

Soooooo, I have a not too old laptop of my sister here. She once spilled coffee over it and it hasn't work for some time now, but I just checked and it seems to work just fine, only thing that is screwed up, is the keyboard (it appears), because there are no error-messages nor anything, but when I press a key, that key gets repeated all over again until I leave the textfield. (Sucks for entering password)

Now, we all no replacing stuff in laptops is not really an easy thing, but maybe the keyboard is not that hard, since it is not that "hardware-ish" or something. Can I replace the keyboard? Is that possible? Just wandering.

I don't even use it, though, I got Adium, which connects all IMs. Also, When you send a link through ICQ it probably won't be recieved, because ICQ blocks alot of domains (like "wllhostforfood") and the other person you're sending it too will recieve a blank message and I most of the times don't even notice (there is no message like "URL blocked!" or any note) and other people will be all like "what link?".

Well-o, I'd like to make my site more dynamic; and therefore, I want to make the archive-type pages (where all games are listed for example) with PHP and MySQL, so I don't have to go into the html code and update the file each time I add a new thing to the table.

The songs are great! Especially the "music", the singing needs a bit of getting-used-to, but is awesome as well in the end.

Also thanks to foxytunes for not needing to download songs to listen to them and being able to put them in a lucky musicplayer inside the browser.
