[2016-03-29 12:10:09 UTC] I don't get the Java hate. I mean sure, Python is just the best programming language in existence, but right after it is Java. [2016-03-29 12:10:26 UTC] I mean, obviously there's C# which is just a better Java. [2016-03-29 12:11:06 UTC] But it doesn't really count cause you know, MS. [2016-03-29 12:11:55 UTC] Also we had a pretty good functional programming course this year. [2016-03-29 12:13:35 UTC] And we used it to write a compiler, where functional programming actually makes sense. Working with ASTs (or any trees) is just better in every way if you do it using recursion. [2016-03-29 17:15:26 UTC] well thankfully i don't think we'll be making a compiler, since this is one of the classes for the newbies who just entered into the CS PROGRAM. As for the intro to computer networks class... apparently for our final project we're going to be writing something similar to TOR, and as of yet the only experience with sockets and networks is copy pasting code from the lecture slides from a previous class [2016-03-29 17:15:30 UTC] so yeah HARD STUFF [2016-03-29 17:50:26 UTC] Yeah making a TOR should be no trouble at all : D [2016-03-29 17:50:47 UTC] I don't hate Java, I just don't want to use it
