[2014-09-19 03:18:57 UTC] why would the scots want independence anyway? It's far better to get free money from the UK whenever they please, right? [2014-09-19 17:24:03 UTC] I think their problem is more about the free money England is getting from them. [2014-09-19 18:02:02 UTC] Soooo.... Scotland : UK :: Alaska :: US? [2014-09-19 18:02:16 UTC] oops, : instead of that last :: [2014-09-19 19:30:43 UTC] not really, more like Cuba : US , Scotland : UK [2014-09-19 22:00:22 UTC] Basically, many reasons. I voted yes. [2014-09-19 22:02:16 UTC] And it's not like... when we please. Essentially the reason I voted yes is because it becoming more and more clear to me that the politics of England and the politics of Scotland are really different. We even disagree on the voting system (FPTP and AV, for example). I don't identify with any of the political parties in Westminster. [2014-09-19 22:16:50 UTC] The more I think about it, the more interesting it becomes to me that, despite the freedoms of technology and transportation rendering various places more accessible, the old empirical politics of massive, sprawling countries that encompass various value systems and economies may actually be becoming untenable.
