We are implementing technical filtering and blacklisting as well as working with law enforcement to find and prosecute these criminals and the companies that pay them to commit crimes. You all can help by using all the "Report" links on the site - on profiles, messages, comments, friend requests, and other places. That will help us better identify the bad guys and eliminate them. Thanks, Greg [2009-05-03 19:08:40 UTC] If this works, I will be mightily pleased [2009-05-03 19:08:44 UTC] lol noit [2009-05-03 19:08:52 UTC] Damn. [2009-05-03 19:08:55 UTC] It didn't. What would you suggest? I'm sure there are alternatives to crates and invisible walls, but there would still be a point where you'd just say, "Okay, this semi truck on this roof here doesn't make any sense." __________________ Kai_San wrote: Yeah it can be boring to get raped, but its also incredibly rewarding to rape someone because you might have stopped them in thier track by getting in thier way. Especially on DA1 but especially with all the non-reachable roofs on DT3 (small town) Welcome to Valve 'fixing' the ability to skip crescendos/exploits/bad spawn areas/etc. - invisible barriers or stuffing crates everywhere. I can easily accept random cars, crates or making the houses higher (although, that wouldn't give it a small town feeling). It's pretty much a requirement to have people staying on the map. The way of the invisible wall, I despise. It's got nothing to do with "realism", just that I hate walljumping to reach a nice ambush spot and then get my nose flattened against extremely dense air. Edit for Garthor: Just don't make me believe I can stand on nice place up high and I won't try getting there. Doesn't take cars on a balcony to do it. I'm not saying I have the answers on how to solve it, and I'm playing the game like crazy so Valve's obviously doing a great job. The invisible barriers just grinds my gears every time, everywhere and in every game they occur. [2009-05-03 19:12:59 UTC] Okay, so there has to be some kind of character limit. In its most common sense, the principle refers to private contracts, stressing that contained clauses are law between the parties, and implies that non-fulfilment of respective obligations is a breach of the pact. The general principle of correct behaviour in commercial praxis %u2014 and implies the bona fide %u2014 is a requirement for the efficacy of the whole system, so the eventual disorder is sometimes punished by the law of some systems even without any direct penalty incurred by any of the parties. With reference to international agreements, "every treaty in force is binding upon the parties to it and must be performed by them in good faith."[2] Pacta sunt servanda is based on good faith. This entitles states to require that obligations be respected and to rely upon the obligations being respected. This good faith basis of treaties implies that a party to the treaty cannot invoke provisions of its municipal (domestic) law as justification for a failure to perform. The only limit to pacta sunt servanda are the peremptory norms of general international law, called jus cogens (compelling law). The legal principle clausula rebus sic stantibus, part of customary international law, also allows for treaty obligations to be unfulfilled due to a compelling change in circumstances.
